The Duomètre collection was first introduced in 2007 and is excellent proof of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s strong position when it comes to technologies and construction solutions. The Duomètre has two barrels working independently, each for a different part of the movement’s mechanism. This solution is a true engineering achievement in the field of chronometry. Jeager-LeCoultre’s trailblazing Dual-Wing concept maximizes the accuracy of timekeeping by not taking away energy from the movement to power additional functions. Instead the complications are “fed” from another source, i.e. the second barrel.
The first Duomètre models were chronographs, followed by the Quantième Lunaire. Today the collection includes some of the most complicated horological mechanisms, including a spatial tourbillon – the sphérotourbillon. These exquisite timepieces are only manufactured from precious metals, gold or platinum. The dial is always well-worth noting, beautifully executed with a perfect sense for symmetry.
